The rooms and suites blend aesthetics and comfort, and each guest room features a piece of art by a local artist. The specialty suites are more spacious, feature even more local art, and have baths that look and feel more like a spa. While the rooms don’t have mini-fridges, they offer breast-milk storage services.
Bargello, the on-site restaurant, offers amazing coastal Mediterranean food. You can grab drinks, tapas, breakfast, and lunch at District 42 or have a private, personalized dinner experience in the Arras Wine Cellar.

The 1900 Inn on Montford has one main house with five rooms and suites and a new carriage house with three more suites. All rooms are uniquely furnished and full of special touches. Each room has a refrigerator and a luxury bathroom.
Some rooms feature a gas fireplace, whirlpool tub, and steam showers (the Thomas Wolfe room has a “Roman bath!”). This is a pet-friendly establishment, and guests don’t have to pay a deposit.
They serve a three-course daily gourmet breakfast. Some rooms include an in-room breakfast opinion. If not, breakfast is served at the dining room community table or the covered front porch. They also offer to-go breakfast if you’re in a rush.

Each suite has a private bedroom, bathroom, washer/dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, and a separate living area. One suite accommodates up to four people. You’ll love the funky yet elegant artistic decoration featuring pieces by local and Parisian artists and special touches like robes, slippers, and premium toiletries.
The on-site spa offers a broad menu of skin, foot, and massage treatments, using products made with plant-based, raw ingredients. The Benjamin Walls Art Gallery and Wine Bar is located on the hotel’s ground floor, where you can enjoy wine, chocolate truffles, and photographer Benjamin Walls’ work.
You’ll enjoy the variety of board and card games provided upon request, the art gallery tour on the property showing an eclectic collection by rotating local artists, and the complimentary waters, sodas, snacks, locally-roasted coffee, and teas.

The Foundry’s building is a restored steel factory located in the center of downtown, just a couple of blocks from Pack Square, in the historical, once predominantly African-American neighborhood called The Block. This part of downtown is usually quieter than the rest, so it’s ideal if you want to escape the hustle and bustle.
The Foundry is a luxury boutique hotel with modern decoration and vintage touches that honor the neighborhood’s history. The rooms have views of the mountain and city or the courtyard, spacious bathrooms with lighted vanity mirrors, and personal Nespresso coffee makers. Some rooms feature exposed brick walls and wet bars.
The Foundry offers creative, fun packages. One of them is called the Pup-Marazzi Adventure Package, and it includes a hike with your pup and a one-hour session with a local photographer to portray your furry family friend in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’ll be just a few minutes from award-winning restaurants, breweries, cafes, music venues, and everything downtown Asheville offers.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious, equipped with a refrigerator and Gilchrist & Soames soaps, toiletries, and a loofah body scrubber. This is a pet-friendly hotel (max of two pets per room, and there is a non-refundable fee).
They have discounts, offers, and stay packages. Some packages include breakfast, but otherwise, breakfast is not included. But the excellent Isa’s French Bistro is on-site, serving French dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients, and located on one of the best streets downtown to people watch.

The loft-style rooms are beautifully decorated and have a relaxed, laid-back feeling. The bathrooms feature premium toiletries and Bluetooth mirrors. The rooms offer beautiful mountain and city views, and some have a private terrace. Each room has a mini-fridge and tea and coffee makers, which are nice extras.
You’ll love Hemingway’s Cuba, the on-site Cuban restaurant on the fourth-floor rooftop terrace, recognized as Asheville’s “Best Restaurant with a View” multiple times. The panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains are stunning!
The restaurant has also been recognized as the “Best Cuban Restaurant in North Carolina.” It serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and weekend brunch. It offers breakfast to go and excellent Cuban coffee, of course.
Unfortunately, Cambria doesn’t allow pets.
8. Princess Anne Hotel Boutique and Breakfast
This charming, historic, and small boutique hotel is located in Chestnut Hills, also known as the Grove Park neighborhood. It’s an easy, peaceful one-mile walk to downtown Asheville, and we highly recommend you do it at least once to experience the cafes, businesses, and vibe of this North Asheville neighborhood.
Princess Anne opened in 1924 during Asheville’s economic boom to provide a respite for the families of tuberculosis patients being treated here. Anne was the beloved nurse called “princess” by her patients who ran the hotel until 1929. The building was renovated in 2003 and received the Griffin Award from the Preservation Society in 2006.
There are 16 suites on three stories, and every stay comes with a complimentary gourmet breakfast made by an in-house chef. The menu is creative and extensive and changes daily. In addition, they serve locally roasted coffee and organic teas.
You’ll love the fluffy terry cloth bathrobes, the lovely private garden, the ongoing fire in the cozy lounge area, and the complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine offered in the afternoon. In addition, they provide complimentary gym passes.
9. AC Hotel Asheville Downtown
The AC Hotel is in the center of downtown and offers clean, modern, and well-equipped rooms with fantastic views. It’s just a few steps from Old Europe, one of the best dessert places in Asheville, and within walking distance of everything else.
There are two restaurants on-site. Capella on 9 offers an extensive tapas menu, handcrafted cocktails, and live music. It has indoor and outdoor seating, and the sunset views are spectacular.
AC Kitchen serves a European-inspired breakfast buffet featuring a variety of cheeses, freshly baked croissants, artisan meats, yogurts and cereals, seasonal fruits, and sweet and savory tarts. It was founded by Edwin Wiley Grove, the “Father of Modern Asheville,” who became a millionaire selling his famous tasteless tonic to fight malaria.
Grove was often sick with bronchitis, so he would come to the area during the summer to seek better health. He built the hotel to be a place for folks to relax and rejuvenate. The hotel is full of history, fascinating tales, and even ghost stories!

The multi-awarded, 43,000-square-foot subterranean spa is one of the best in Western North Carolina, and is only available to overnight guests. Located in the iconic Art Deco Flatiron Building built in 1926 and fully restored, the Flat Iron Hotel will open in April 2024, and it already promises to become one of the most unique boutique hotels in Asheville.
It’ll feature 71 luxury rooms, an Italian restaurant, a co-working space, and a rooftop bar, among other top-notch amenities, including a 1920s-styled front desk with a concierge in near-period dress and a restored elevator.
The Flatiron Building was designed by Albert C. Wirthand and built in the Roaring Twenties alongside many other Asheville landmarks, like the Grove Arcade and the S&W Cafeteria. By the time’s standards, the eight-story building modeled on the iconic Flatiron Building in New York City was considered a skyscraper!
The Downtown building hosted WWNC, the first radio broadcasting station, which opened in 1927 and continued operating until 1939, and it’s now part of the National Register of Historic Places.
