The 13 Best Hotels in Asheville with a Pool

Did you know that an estimated 11 million travelers visit Asheville every year? Our small city, settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the land of the Cherokee people, is often featured in the press and praised by celebrities, and nobody wants to miss it!

A travel destination since the 1800s, when privileged families used to come here to spend the summers and breathe the healing mountain air, modern-day Asheville holds many honorific titles from Beer City, USA to Dog City, USA (it’s one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country!). Plus, it continues to make it on all “the best” lists.

Asheville is fun year-round, with its perfect four-season weather, outdoor opportunities, and holistic and collaborative-oriented community of businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits. But the summer and the fall are the busiest seasons for tourism, and nothing adds more fun to a summer or early fall trip than having a swimming pool to cool off in if it gets hot during the day or to relax in when the sun sets.

All those who come here to enjoy our restaurants, breweries, outdoors, and funky events need a place to stay. Fortunately, there are accommodations for every need, with more options being added every year, from unique boutique hotels and bed and breakfasts located in historical buildings to glamping and camping sites and cheap motels for the budget-friendly folks.

If you’re having a tough time deciding where to stay, I’ve compiled a list of the best hotels in Asheville with pools. Luxury and budget hotels made it to this list because water fun should be available to everyone, shouldn’t it?

The 13 Best Asheville Hotels with a Pool

1. Cool Down in Aloft’s Pool in the Heart of Downtown Asheville

Aloft Asheville Downtown is on Biltmore Ave. in Downtown Asheville, within walking distance to award-winning restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, art galleries, locally-owned stores, parks, and a few steps from some of the most well-known places in town, like The Orange Peel and Wicked Weed Brewing.

You’ll love the modern, pop, funky, urban-chic atmosphere and the rooms with city and mountain views. There are also poolside cabana rooms, perfect for the summer.

The pool deck overlooks the mountains and is the ideal spot to relax and cool down. The pool is open from May 21 to October 31, and there are fire pits and lounge furniture to enjoy after dark.

Aloft is one of the most pet-friendly hotels in town, partnering with local organizations to promote dog adoptions. So don’t be surprised if you see a pup for adoption in the lobby! The best part? Pets stay for free and are welcome everywhere in the hotel (although you can’t leave them alone in your room).

You’ll enjoy the bar, which features a terrace overlooking Downtown Asheville and serves handcrafted cocktails and small plates. There is a convenience store on-site where you can get made-to-order meals (or have them delivered to your room!), Starbucks drinks, and gourmet eats and snacks.
