Our area is a dream come true for dogs, and some local hotels have gone above and beyond to show their appreciation for how much our pups enrich our lives. Its prime location in a restored historic building, excellent amenities, and an award-winning restaurant on-site make it the perfect boutique hotel to base your Asheville adventures. Staying here with your pup will create unforgettable memories!
The Pup-arazzi Adventure Package includes accommodations for you and your fur baby (there is a fee for additional guests), a one-hour session with a local photographer with the Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop, treats from Patton Avenue Pet Company, including dog beer, and a complimentary voucher for a DIY dog bath.
You can choose from two hiking routes in the Pisgah National Forest and Wildcat Rock Hike, which is exclusive for Foundry Hotel guests and features a waterfall and incredible rock formations. Great pics are guaranteed!

2. Treat your Pup to Luxury at the 1900 Inn in Historic Montford
The 1900 Inn in Monford is an adorable, multi-awarded arts and crafts bed and breakfast in the historic district of Montford. Located less than a mile from downtown and full of great things to see and do, Fido will love walking around the ample shaded avenues and parks and being greeted by friendly human and doggie neighbors.
The bed & breakfast has one main house with five rooms and suites and a carriage house with three more suites. All rooms are uniquely furnished and full of special touches. Think gas fireplaces, jacuzzis, steam showers, in-room spa treatments, and Roman baths. The three-course daily gourmet breakfast on the porch or by the fire is legendary!
I live near Montford and love walking by the 1900 Inn on a Saturday evening and listening to the live mountain music on the front porch. Everyone is welcome, and the coffee and homemade cookies are the best!
Montford is a paradise for furry friends. Montford Park and Tempie Avery Park, with their ample shaded areas and inclusive playground, are perfect for the entire family! There are great places to eat in Montford: Tall John’s, Nine Mile, Little Jumbo Bar, and All Day Darling which is a go-to cafe for locals with dogs. Montford even has a small convenience store! You’ll love staying at the 1900 Inn on Montford and enjoying the neighborhood’s family vibe (lemonade stands abound!), all within walking distance of downtown’s attractions.
3. Adopt a New Furry Friend at Aloft
Aloft Asheville Downtown is one of the best places to stay in Downtown Asheville, with or without dogs. It has a light-hearted vibe with pop art and playful touches and features the only rooftop swimming pool downtown. Its pet policy goes way beyond “dog-friendly”- we could even call it “dog-loving.”
At Aloft, they believe in giving back. They partner with Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue to foster dog adoptions. You’ll see their feature doggie in the lobby, ready to steal your heart. And if you’re not careful, you might leave with a new puppy. I walk by the hotel often and never dare to look inside…

The Grand Bohemian Hotel is one of the best places to stay near Biltmore Estate. It’s in the historic neighborhood of Biltmore Village and only a block from the Biltmore Gate House. This hotel is the perfect base for your Biltmore Estate visit. While only service dogs are allowed inside the buildings, they are welcome on the grounds. The Grounds ticket gives you daytime access to the 8,000 acres of formal gardens, 20+ miles of hiking trails alongside the French Broad River, Antler Hill Village, and the Winery (with a complimentary wine tasting!).
Another great option is to buy a ticket that includes a house tour and 2-day grounds access. You could tour the Biltmore House one day without your pup, then take them the next day to stroll around the glorious gardens and then have lunch at the dog-friendly patios of the Bistro or Cedric’s Tavern.
